Hidden Crafting Recipes is a quest that will take you all around the Blackmire in search of six hidden notes. In this Enshrouded guide, we will review each and every hidden note location, so you can collect them all and complete the Hidden Crafting Recipes quest.

Where to Find the Blackmire Hidden Crafting Recipes

There are six hidden notes to find, the first of which kicks off the mission for you. You can pick up the notes in any order and it doesn't matter which one you get first. Click the links below to find out how to find each hidden note:

Secrets! Treasures! Doors!

The Secrets! Treasures! Doors! note is hidden in a cave very close to the Blackmire Ancient Spire. To get there, fast-travel to the top of the tower and glide off toward the southwest. Drop down when you spot the road and follow it to a set of stone doors embedded in the cliff face.

Head inside the cavern and launch yourself off the trampoline toward the grappling hook. Swing from one hook to the next, then land on the platform at the end of the passageway. Open the hidden door in the wall behind the baskets and head in to plunder a silver chest.

To the right of the chest, you will find the Secrets! Treasures! Doors! note in an open book.

A Miserable Jump

The next hidden note can be found in the Snapjaw Tar Pits. Glide off the west side of the Blackmire Ancient Spire until you reach the bubbling expanse of the Tar Pits. Glide and bounce your way around the area, taking care not to get caught in the mud and tar for too long, until you reach a small grassy island surrounded by poisonous flower enemies.

These Spitting Plants shoot projectiles that attach to your head and slowly leech away at your life. There are quite a few around the area, including two on the grass island itself, so work your way around, picking off the enemies around the edges before heading to the grassy island. That way, you can read the note without getting overwhelmed.

Read the open book sitting in the grass to find the note.

A Wonderland of Lost Architecture!

You can find the third hidden note in a small cave at the end of a river of mud. To reach it, leap off the Blackmire Ancient Spire and glide southwest as far as you can. Look for the small path that winds through the forest with a Shrouded area to the right and a set of ruins on the left.

Follow the path until you reach a pool of mud stretching back toward the hills, and start making your way to the cliffs at the end. There is a large Snapjaw lurking in the mud that will shoot grimy projectiles at you, so watch your step as you're traversing the pool. Getting caught in the mud will slow down your movement speed. Stick to the edges to avoid being trapped in the Snapjaw's grasp.

The hidden note is in a small open cave at the very end of the mud river. Read it to unlock the Vukah Shrine recipes.

Larger Than Life!

The Larger Than Life hidden note is the trickiest one to reach, but it's not so difficult to traverse the cave once you know how to. Begin by heading to the Blackmire Ancient Spire and gliding toward the massive tree on the left of the tower.

Once you reach the Treetop Settlement, keep moving past it and take the branching path on the right. Follow the small path to another set of stone doors in the cliff face. Head inside to check out the challenge that awaits you. The floor of the cave is covered in sticky tar that will kill you if you get caught in it. The trick is to swing, launch, and jump your way around the cave without touching the ground at all.

Jump and use the grapple hook to swing yourself onto the trampoline that will launch you onto a grate. Climb up the grate and turn back around the face the entrance. Double jump onto the log that the grapple hook is attached to and then jump across to the second grate. Climb up the grate and out to the balcony to find the next hidden note.

Head back inside and climb the small staircase leading to the back of the cave. Jump off the ledge and use the grapple hook to swing yourself to the next platform. Climb up the small grate and open the silver chest you will find there before setting off to the next hidden note.

The Message Above

The Message Above hidden note can be found at the Hermit Camp. This is the same location you will discover when completing the Eternally Piercing quest for the Bard, so you can kill two birds with one stone here. To reach the note, head to the Blackmire Ancient Spire and soar off the top to the northeast. Keep an eye on the ground and land when you see a giant hollow log resting on the hills.

Turn north when you reach the log to find a small camp atop a large tree stump. Soar over there with your glider to pick up the hidden note and the Eternal Frost Arrow you need to complete the Eternally Piercing quest.

I Have to Remember This

Like The Message From Above note, this note is also on the path of another quest. In this case, the note can be found in the Treetop Vukah Settlement you have to explore during the Hand Drum for the Bard quest.

The Treetop Vukah Settlement is nestled in the massive tree on the west side of the Blackmire. To get there, soar off the Blackmire Ancient Spire, over the Snapjaw Tar Pits, and head up the road until you see the entrance to the ruins.

There is a checkpoint outside the ruin, so make sure you activate it before heading deeper inside. Turn right and take out any Vukah that may be guarding the area before entering the ruins.

Turn left at the end of the hall while watching out for the booby traps on the floor. They don't inflict too much damage on their own, but they do stun you. If you are in active combat, falling into one of these pits could give the Vukah the upper hand.

Look up when you enter the next room to find a grapple anchor and hookshot your way to the upper level. Take the stairs on the right, climb across the fallen log, and up the grate on the other side. Head through the door on the left, then turn right to enter the Treetop Vukah Settlement.

Straight ahead from the entrance to the Treetop Vukah Settlement is a silver chest. Duck into the room quickly to pick up the loot, then head back out and to the left to continue up the stairs. Turn right to enter the next section of the ruins, making sure to receive the Blessing and read the nearby book to complete the Hidden Crafting Recipes Quest.
